Varkala is
a small, peaceful resort just 51km from Trivandrum
international airport and 176km from Cochin international
airport. It is thick with coconut trees that house many
kinds of wildlife, bird life and butterflies. Varkala’s main
beach, Papanasam is long and golden with a stunning backdrop
of red literate cliffs from which healing mineral water
springs forth.
To the north and south Varkala boasts endless stretches of
fantastic beach undiscovered by the average tourist.
Varkala’s Temple Junction is the home of an ancient
Janardhanaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu that
was largely rebuilt in the 13th century. The minor shrines
found around the temple date from much earlier.
In February/March every year the temple becomes a site of
pilgrimage for thousands of devotees. Next to the temple are
the ghats where the local people come to wash their clothes
and themselves.

The restaurant offers a wide selection of South Indian,
North Indian and Continental food. For breakfast you can
enjoy the traditional Kerala idly or dosa served with sambar
and chutney. Or you can opt for eggs, toast, cornflakes and
tea or coffee. The lunch and dinner menus range from chicken
tikka to fish and chips to vegetable chop sue.
The outdoor restaurant can cater for up to 150 guests so
it’s the perfect place for a large gathering. Preeth Beach
Resort’s restaurant has hosted social evenings for the
Rotary Club and have organized many successful buffet
parties for large groups and festive events
Ayurveda:
Ayurveda or "the science of life" is the ancient healing art
of India, thousands of years old. Massages, herbs and oils
are applied to the body aiming to restore the natural
balance of the three doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Ayurveda
is a gentle healing method, the treatments are gentle and
natural.
The Ayurveda Health Center at Preeth Beach Resort offers a
wide range of Ayurveda treatments given by experienced and
well trained staff for men and women. Free medical
consultations are available.
